2013 Super D
2013 Overall Combined
2013 Race Report
Muddy! 22 MPH Winds and well it was Cold! After a Mellow the weekend started out with the HC and Super D and under mellow and good race temps for the 2.2 Mile Climb and 3 Mile Super D. Fastest Time of the Day was uphill was by Tyler Miller in 13:05 for the Men and Megan Chinburg in 15:32 for the 850 ft of Climbing followed up by the fastest Super D of the day by Keith Jennings in 10:09 and once again Megan Chinburg in 13:04 outpacing most of the guys..way to go Megan!
Saturday Night Brought in Storms and power outages and the lowest ever day of registration as people looked outside and curled back into a warm bed while the field of 300+ took to the staring line. The good thing about a ton of rain is the mud does not stick nearly as much as sorta wet trails, The worst part about rain is the lack of a Jacket for some riders after a stern warning by yours truly to keep your jacket handy. At the end of the day Bend Oregon Resident Brennan Wodtli (All Access Racing) too home the Sunday XC in 1:38 only 1 Minute off of the course record set by Carl Decker and in Second Keith Jennings of Corvallis (Team Hazelux) in second at 1:40:58 and third Barry Wicks (Kona) in 1:42:36. For the women Alice Pennington (Kona) in 2:03:46 took her 5th, 6th or 7th Mudslinger Victory (I have lost count and she is defiantly the most dominate Mudslinger in History for the women. In a close second was Serena Bishop Gordon in 2:04:04 (All Access Racing) and third was Megan Chinburg (Rivercity Bicycles Womens Racing) in 2:06:03. The big story was all the Beginners and new Riders to this event taking on the conditions and starting the month of April off with a muddy bang! We will be holding the Stage race again in 2014 and with a few more twists to bring the community of mountain bikers together and once again to get a bit of mud flying around.
